Laser protective mirror mainly includes absorption type, reflection type, composite type, explosion type, photochemical reaction type, glass-ceramic type, and other types.
The absorption type is to add various absorbers into the glass or plastic lens to absorb the laser so that it cannot pass through.
The reflective type is to coat a set of high refractive index dielectric films on the lens. When the light is directed to the dielectric film, all the phases of the reflected light on the interface are the same, so that the light reflection of this wavelength is strengthened, which can reflect the laser to protect the glasses and has a high penetrability to other visible light.
The composite type is composed of two reflective media films separated by a layer of absorbing color glass to suppress the unwanted internal reflection between the two reflective films. This kind of glasses has good protective performance and high safety factor for laser, which is suitable for the protection of large and medium power laser.
Explosive is to coat the lens with explosive substance. When the incident laser intensity reaches a certain value, it will detonate rapidly to shield the laser and prevent the laser weapons from hurting the eyes in the military. Each kind of laser protective lens has its own characteristics. Generally, it can only prevent one wavelength of the laser, and a few can prevent two or more wavelengths of the laser. Therefore, it is necessary to select appropriate laser goggles according to the laser used.
